All About the Fundraiser

What is the start and end date?

Our fundraiser will run from January 2025 to June 2026.

What is the goal of the fundraiser?

Our first goal is to receive the equivalent of 100 donations of $100 each, toward $10,000. Our second goal is to collect 100 memories about our church to be shared on our website and at our 100th Anniversary “Roots and Branches Event” in July 2025.

Who are we reaching out to?

Our intention is to reach out to our wider community on our weekly email list. Our church is supported exclusively by donations from our local community. We hope to reach and inspire folks who have a connection with our church.

How will the money be used?

Donations will be used to support our church into the future, including maintaining the buildings, our community events and the ministries of Cressy Glenora United Church.

Do you accept all amounts of donations?

Yes, the 100 x 100 name is just a catchy title. Folks can donate as much or as little as they like. Donations will be tracked on a “thermometer” in Burley Hall.

How to donate financially?

Financial gifts may be sent in three ways: (1) by sending an e-transfer to crglfinance@gmail.com, or (2) through the Canada Helps website, keyword: Cressy Glenora Pastoral Charge, or (3) by cheque sent to our mailing address at 3442 County Rd 7, Picton, ON K0H 2S0. Please mark “100 years” in the comment line. Donations of $20 or more are eligible for a tax receipt. Thank you kindly for your generosity and support.

What is the “100 Memories” Project?

In addition to the fundraiser, we hope to gather 100 memories about church life in North Marysburgh from 1925 to 2025.

What is the “Roots and Branches” Thank you Event?

Donors and the wider community will be invited to an afternoon event entitled “Roots and Branches: In Our Own Words, 100 Years of The United Church of Canada in North Marysburgh.” This event will showcase history, a slideshow of photos, artefacts, newspaper clippings and stories we’ve collected. Local storytellers will share memories and stories from our past. A sit-down tea will be served. All are welcome to attend. The purpose of this event is also to thank all those who have donated to the 100 x 100 fundraiser.
