Oh, the earth is slowly waking up from under its blanket of snow. That's been the theme around here this winter: living under a blanket of snow. Until all of a sudden the rain comes and the earth starts coming back to life, but with all the creaks and cracks of getting out of bed in the morning!
If you are a person who, like me, feels snap, crackles and pops in the morning... well, I have a song for you! This is the ORIGINAL Rice Krispies cereal song from the 1950s. It's a smooth toe-tapper! (This newsletter is not sponsored, but we won't complain if Kelloggs wants to put in a community swimming pool behind the church in exchange for this free advertising.)

Pie Day Success!
Speaking of sweet treats... we recently had our first PIE day in Burley Hall. In attendance was a coconut cream pie, an apple pie with cheddar cheese, a blueberry and mixed berry pie, a custard fruit tart, and a key lime pie. We made these pies to say, "You and your family and friends are welcome here!"
Above: Generous bakers from the community of faith share all kinds of delicious creations! Below: Folks were eager to test each one. Thank you for your service!
"All Welcome Here" discussion series
To mark the United Nations Day to Eliminate Racism, our student minister attended "All Welcome Here," a community discussion series in Macauley Church Museum. The organizers asked, "How can we begin to talk about racism in The County?" The offered a safe and supportive space where people can ask uncomfortable questions, learn more about anti-racism and develop concrete tools to make the County a more welcoming community for all of us. To know more about this year-long discussion series visit their website at https://allwelcomehere.ca/all-welcome-here-community-discussion-series/

Joke Corner
I finally developed an arthritis soothing serum for my creaky bones. I call it WD-Over40.
Met a lovely woman at my arthritis support group last night. We clicked together instantly.
The old man said, "Sir, I'm sorry to bother you but could you address this post card for me? My arthritis is acting up today and I can't even hold a pen." "Certainly sir," said the younger man, "I'd be glad to." He wrote out the address and also agreed to write a short message and sign the card for the man. Finally, the younger man asked, "Now, is there anything else I can do for you?" The old fellow thought about it for a moment and said, "Yes, at the end could you just add, 'P.S.: Please excuse the sloppy hand-writing.'"
Friends, if you've been stuck indoors or a little isolated this winter, now is the time to start peeking out into the world. Let's find ways to bring some LIFE back into life!
Have a wonderful week everyone!
Blessings to you all,
From, your student minister, Aaron
