The inner place of the soul

Greetings to the Friends, Neighbours and Members of Cressy Glenora Church,

I have the benefit of speaking to people about their faith and spirituality, whatever it may be. I am fascinated by how nurturing our inner peace and purpose may show itself in our everyday lives and commitments.

Last week, I read these words of my ancient brother, who said something like, What I’ve taught you in the secret places of your soul… share it somehow. And what I’ve told you all in the safety of the dark, our fireside conversations… live it in the light of day. What you have heard me whisper in our moments of private prayer… let it guide your way with those you know and meet.

In my faith tradition, and maybe in your own way too, there are some who cultivate quiet, prayer, meditation or the simplicity of silence. This is sometimes referred to as going into an “inner room” with the Great Mystery. Our inner room is not a physical place, but a spiritual state-of-being to pause in and to breathe in. A place where we might open ourselves to receive the great “I Am.”

This is what I wanted to share forward with you all today: that you and I might hear what we are being taught in the secret places of your souls. And, that the nurturing of our higher purpose, our inner peace, our calm strength and presence might show itself in our everyday lives and commitments.

Warm blessing to you all,

from your minister,

Rev. Aaron
